Couch to 5k and 5 to 10k

Couch to 5k (C25K)

We run a Couch to 5k course each year starting in January led by an experienced team who are passionate about enabling anyone to start running. We run one session a week on Monday evenings as a group, and use the NHS Couch to 5k app for the other 2 sessions each week.
There is always great group morale and many new friends are made as part of the course which typically concludes in March at a local Parkrun.
We open applications after Christmas and provide details each year via social media.
We then run a follow course to enable those who want to run 10k too!

Coaching 5k to the Thame 10k

We also run a follow on course from April to June for those who have completed the Couch to 5k or anyone who can already run 5k, that is led by our trained run coaches.
You will learn about running technique enabling you to run more efficiently, along with some fun activities too. The 12 week course includes a 1 year membership of Thame Runners and concludes with entry into the Thame 10k at the end of June.
Most of our participants never thought they could ever run as far as 10km, but it’s amazing what you can achieve with consistent training and motivation of a supportive group!

There are lot’s of different run groups to get involved with as a new member depending on your interests, availability and capability. Our Freshers groups are a great entry point with run paces from 13min/mile (8min/km) to 10min/mile (6min/km) with a ladder for increasingly speedy runners, so there’s always a suitable group of 6-10 members to run with.
