Club Championship

We normally run one event each month ranging from 5k to Half Marathon distances with both local road and trail events featuring, to enable all our members to take part and have fun competing together.

The good news is that the fastest runner doesn’t automatically win…there are bonus point for Personal Best (PB) performances at each race distance, and a bonus for completing 8 of the 12 events to maximise your score. We have both men and ladies divisions and the top 3 in each get their trophies awarded at our Annual Presentation Dinner! Details of the Championship rules can be found here.

Thame Runners – Freshers Club Championship 2024

The Freshers Club Championship was new for 2022 and focused on encouraging newer runners to participate in timed events, race over the season and reward individual improvement during the year.

Points are earned at each event plus bonus points for each time you run a personal best (PB) time at either 5k or 10k distances, which you can do multiple times during the season. We don’t award points based on finishing order; everyone who finishes an event gets the same points, so participation and improvement are rewarded.

The events are a mix of local Parkruns, Thame Runners club timed events and also Club Championship 10k and 5k events (which also means participants earn points in Division 2 as well)

We award a trophy after the end of the season to the top 3 points scorers, who will be those who ran events and scored multiple PBs so your performance is entirely in your hands!

Thame Runners Club Championship rules apply except that the first race at each distance will set the benchmark time from which PBs are calculated. PBs are valid for 3 years (same rules as Club Champs) & there are no limits on the number of PBs during the championship season.

Please ensure you add Thame Runners as your club to your Parkrun profile to qualify, otherwise we can’t track your results!

Oxfordshire Cross County League 2025

To register for Cross Country, please contact team captains, Charlie Pughe or Emma Pughe.

https://oxonxc.org.uk/
Come and take part in this challenging but fun series of 5 races, starting towards the end of the year. The cross country league is hosted across 5 months and 5 venues, with courses being typically 4-5 miles.
We enter a ladies and a mens team, who run in separate races. This is a great opportunity to challenge yourself, but also one of the few chances that you will get to run as a team as the first few crossing the line score points.
